Maanshan Steel has contracted its blast furnace C to CISDI.

The new furnace will be built to a volume of 2,500 cubic metres and will play a vital role in balancing the steel plant’s hot metal output at its northern and southern zones.

CISDI’s services will cover the main facilities, from raw material and fuel-charging to the hot metal production and the relevant auxiliaries.

The new blast furnace will be highly advanced. It will be safer and more economical to operate and have a longer life-span than conventional blast furnaces. It will also have impressive green credentials.

CISDI won the contract in the midst of China’s COVID-19’s outbreak. During lockdown and unable to meet in person, its teams had to stage 60 video conferences to review and plan the technicalities and commercial aspects of the project.

Technologically-advanced features of Maanshan’s new furnace will include soft water enclosed circulation, top gas recovery, bag filter dedusting and TRT expertise.

Intelligent equipment will include the automatic mud gun, hearth’s erosion monitor, the cooler’s thermal load monitor, automatic aligning track scale and intelligent ironmaking model.

CISDI’s high-efficiency, low-consumption mega blast furnace technology has been awarded a national excellent technological prize.

The company now has 178 references for blast furnaces in various volumes around the globe.
